Inmate collect calls can be very costly.  Jail Calls understands this cost can do more harm to a household budget and is here to help. We use call routing technologies in conjunction with our network to reduce the overall cost of each call. For people without the ability to accept a collect call on their cell phone, VOiP phone (cable phones), or just have a block we are able to give service. Prison phone systems have a lot of built in security features to prevent fraud, harassment of people that should not be called by inmates, and time limits for the duration of the call. NO SECURITY features that are legally in place by a prison is in any way tampered with. Jail Calls is completely legal and only works with and for friends and families of inmates. No inmate can be a customer because, they are not responsible for paying the phone bill. Correctional Facility calls at a lower rate does not harm the interests of security. In fact, Prison Calls do cost more to handle but, that does not mean these phone calls should be overpriced.

Correctional facility calls are usually provided by one of the contracted companies that plays the voice message and handles the phones at the facilities. Names like Global Tel Link, Correctional Billing Services, and PayTel to name a few. These companies handle only the billing aspect and have no legal right under any law to decide who “your carrier of choice is. Sixth Form Colleges in London and How To Choose The Best Sixth Form College for Your Situation.

This article will explain what sixth form colleges are, how they work and what you should look for in choosing the best sixth form college.

Sixth form colleges in London specialise in taking students from year 12 (generally age 16-17) and putting them through the 2 years of A Level studies, in preparation for final exams at the end of year 13.

Specialist 6th form colleges, especially private sixth form colleges, focus on developing students for A Level examinations and moving them into university or other higher education institutions.

Learning styles differ between schools and universities, and 6th forms bridge the gap between these learning styles. Learning is often more informal and there is more emphasis based on discussions between teachers and students, and less “spoon-feeding” from teachers to students.

The best sixth form colleges in London are often the private colleges, offering small class sizes and a more work-focused environment for learning.

When choosing a private 6th form, you should visit the college and speak with the Headmaster/Principal and other teachers, and determine whether the atmosphere is the right atmosphere for the prospective student.

You should speak with the subject teachers for the subjects that the student will be teaching, and ask them relevant questions about the subject and their teaching style and success, and even ask to see some notes or lesson plans. Trust your instincts when speaking with the teachers.

Some colleges will also offer taster days which are an excellent way to get an idea of the teaching quality, and to meet current and prospective students and speak with them about their view of the 6th form college. The best sixth form college for you or your child will vary according to your individual background and goals, and therefore it is important to consider a range and get an idea of what you want, and to communicate that to the staff when you visit the college.

Availability Of Nursing Degrees Online Programs

The nursing career is one of the fastest growing careers and occupations in the United States of America. This is due to the shortage of nurses as well as the rapid increase in the number of elderly Americans which leads to nursing being one of the sought after professions. Nurses are the life line of any health care organization.

There is a vast number of nursing degree online programs which are available. Some of the courses are as follows:

  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) – This course also known as the ADN course and the duration is normally of two years after which an individual becomes a “Registered Nurse (RN). The course usually focuses on technical skills and considered to be a stepping stone for many who target the Bachelors level. The ASN course is normally available only in the American colleges; however foreign students do get a chance as well.

This course serves well with individuals who are faced with financial constraints as they can complete the course in two years vis-a vis doing it in the four year colleges.

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN): This is normally the benchmark which most employers look for and is a good way to head start and increase salary levels. Being equipped with a bachelors degree nursing and course helps in attaining managerial and supervisory roles.

Interestingly there are various other courses which are offered by American colleges that help bridging the gap between a “registered nurse and a diploma to an ADN to a BSN.

  • Master of Science in Nursing (MSN): In this course the duration usually tends to vary between 18-24 months. Individuals who want to specialize in a particular field for instance healthcare administration look out for this particular course.

Interestingly there are certain alternatives which are available at attaining the master’s degrees as well. The first one is from an RN to a MSN program whereas the second one is an accelerated BSN program.

These are the main nursing degrees online programs which are available and helps boost the nursing career in the country. There is a vast availability of other specialized short courses which help advance the health care sector in the country.

After choosing a nursing degrees online program, an individual needs to pay heed to choose an appropriate school which proves to be an extremely important definition. Factors like, the specialties in the nursing school, the location and size of the school, size of the nursing class, frequency of clinical rotation at the nursing school, accreditation of the school, tuition fees, NCLEX examinations success rates etc all are important while making the critical decision of the university which an individual needs to go to study!

Maximising Your Practice Time – Seven Tips to Boost Your Efforts

While the quantity of time you invest into practising your instrument is certainly a significant factor when it comes to your improvement, it is not as important as the quality of practice that you are able to inject into that time. Adopting a few helpful practice techniques will go a long way towards making your sacrifices and commitment pay off in satisfying ways.

Use a metronome – One of the fundamental, crucial elements in making good music is being able to keep solid time. A metronome is an indispensable tool when it comes to making this happen. It will force you to stick to the beat, and thereby make you more comfortable and effective playing in a band situation.

Slowly does it – When working on a technique or skill, do it slowly at first, and correctly. Speed will come over time (excuse the pun), but trying to go for speed too soon will cause mistakes to creep in. Take your time, and do it right. You will save yourself tons of frustration and time in the long run.

Avoid practising mistakes – Following from the previous point, it can take up to 7 times more effort to unlearn a mistake that you have adopted, as opposed to learning the correct method in the first place. Investing in a good teacher or tutorial resource is highly beneficial. Learn from the mistakes of others, and benefit from the wisdom of those who have already walked much further along the path that you are on.

One small chunk at a time – Break your work down into bite size chunks. Focus on getting one small piece right, and then moving on to the next. Then, work on connecting those little chunks together, slowly and methodically, and you will find your music steadily emerging. Also, you will benefit from the sense of satisfaction that comes from achieving these smaller goals on a regular basis.

Take frequent breaks – The human brain can only concentrate for so long before its ability to retain and process information starts to diminish. To give your grey matter the best platform to produce results, take a 5 minute rest every half an hour or so.

Limit distractions – Communicate with those you live with (assuming you are not on your own). Ask them for some consideration in giving you some undisturbed time with your music. Switch off your phone, close your door, and give your music your full attention. This kind of single-minded dedication will benefit you immensely as the days and weeks roll by.

Work on the challenging bits – It is no good spending all your practice time playing what you are already good at because it is easy and fun. Intentionally work on the areas that challenge you, and you will evolve into a more rounded, solid player. This is what your practice time is for. There will be plenty of play time on other occasions.

With a little bit of smarts and some good habits, improving on your instrument need not be a colossal pain. Embracing healthy practice habits makes the difference between progress and stagnation.

Improve Your Chances to Get a Sports Scholarship

The cost of college is higher now more than ever. When students seek out ways to pay for college, they almost always will try for a scholarship. With the large variety of scholarships available, individuals will seek ways to get an advantage over others, and a high school athlete is no exception. College athletic scholarships can be hard to find and even harder to get. Only certain schools offer athletic scholarships, but there are some ways you can boost yourself above the rest. Also, don’t forget that you can get unusual scholarships for college to supplement things.

The number of athletic scholarships is limited and very competitive. Usually the athletic scholarships will only cover a portion of tuition, so be sure to look for other ways to supplement your tuition. Some of these schools include: Briar Cliff University in Iowa, Michigan State, Wingate University in North Carolina, Talladega College and Holy Names University in California, Baker University in Kansas and Morningside College in Iowa. These are just a few, but the list is not overwhelming. So how do you set yourself apart from everyone else? How do you get these college sports scholarships? You will need to put together a portfolio of not only athletic achievement but also academic achievement. Start by gathering all the newspaper articles that you are featured in. Did you do an interview after a championship game? Got an article from when you broke a record? Pick out the best articles that highlight your athletic ability. Then make a good copy of each article. It doesn’t have to be photo quality, but if it’s smudged and illegible it won’t impress anyone.

Get a letter of recommendation from your coach and one of your teachers, principle, or mentor. It may also help to make a video. You can highlight yourself both on and off the field or court. If you participate in any community service, show a scene of you helping out. Add in some shots of you playing and a short blurb about yourself. You want to show case your talents without losing the viewers interest. So keep it short; you will only need about 5-10 minutes. Add a cover letter detailing why you want to play for that school and even why you feel you deserve the scholarship. When your portfolio is complete, send it to the coach at the school you are interested in attending. This one package can make all the difference between getting noticed and getting passed by. In addition to athletic scholarships you still want to apply for other funding and awards you can use such as Bill Gates Scholarship and if appropriate Scholarships for Single Mothers .

Triage Nursing – Discover What It Takes To Become A Triage RN

Triage nursing is about prioritizing the urgency of cases as they arrive in the Emergency Department for treatment.  The registered nurse is a nursing graduate that has trained and been licensed by the state.  A Triage RN is trained and registered to specifically perform the duties of the medical facility.

Are the responsibilities of the Triage RN different than a regular nurse?

There are situations that may arise in emergency conditions where the Triage RN may need to treat patients.  Triage nursing may mean administering contact with the patient either in person or over the phone.  If it is a phone connection the triage nurse needs to prioritize the patient according to the incoming phone calls.  Triage nursing then involves analyzing the symptoms the caller explains, and then advising of either a generalized treatment or a trip to the emergency room for immediate attention by the attending physician.

In triage nursing individuals who come into the emergency room for treatment are processed first by a consultation with the Triage RN.  It is up to the nurse to analyze each case that arrives according to their symptoms and make the decision which case needs immediate attention.  The main duties do not call for the direct treatment of patients but if the facility is backed up or understaffed it does fall on the triage RN to treat patients as well.

What kind of special skills are required in triage nursing?

Probably the biggest part of the job is problem solving.  For a triage nurse to be successful in the position, excellent analytical skills and problem solving capabilities are essential.  Bedside manner is another important qualification and it is paramount that these skills are outstanding because a big part of the job is to communicate with and comfort patients in their time of crisis.  The pressures of the emergency room are accelerated and the nurse must handle life or death situations with a cool and calm head.  It is therefore essential that the triage nurse has exceptional people skills.

What kind of education is necessary for successful triage nursing?

There is a mandatory requirement of a four-year nursing degree.  A master’s degree is preferable in most cases and the nurse must be state registered and licensed to practice where they are applying.  Experience in triage nursing is a big plus when an RN applies for a new position as this will most likely get them preferential consideration.

Along with the basic nursing degrees there are also classes available that help to improve the skills needed for triage nursing.  There are courses online and also seminars for extra training.  Experience is the greatest teacher though.  Becoming certified is not a requirement but certainly will look good on any resume.  Certification shows a professionalism and sincerity.  It is now possible to become certified for telephone triage nursing through the National Certification Corporation.  The requirement is at least two-thousand hours of experience in specialty nursing and the experience must be recent.

HRU offers continuing education seminars for new nurse managers including nursing leadership training.

Prep Schools In London

It is common for preparatory schools in London to accept children from as young as 3 years old, however the most common age group for prep school attendance is 8-13, which covers school years 4-8 in the UK system. Entry into preparatory schools in normally based on having an interview with the Headmaster or Principal, and the school receiving good reports from the previous school (not necessarily evidence of outstanding academic achievement, more related to interest and attitude).

It is not uncommon for schools to sit basic examinations in the core subjects of Mathematics and English, including verbal and numerical reasoning. It is common to join the prep school at the age of 8, right through until 13.

Fewer places are available for pupils joining at other times, and therefore it is harder to join in year 7 which is the standard year that secondary schools start. If it is possible to join in year 7, the entrance requirements are usually more academic since the school will be focussing on preparing the students for Common Entrance exams at 12/13, where pupils join schools in year 9 entry.

Prep schools in London focus on the 8-13 range, preparing pupils for entrance into Public Schools (private, fee paying schools) at 13+ through the Common Entrance system.   In recent years, there have been more independent London prep schools taking students until 11 to match the state primary age grouping. Children move on to the senior schools for year 8 (age 11+) in some prep schools now. Traditional boarding schools still run the senior school from age 13-18, however.

Typically, independently educated boys will go to a pre-prep school from ages 4/5 to 8, to a prep school from age 8 to 13, and to a public school 13 to age 18.

Girls’ independent schools in London have a tendency to stick to the age ranges of state primary and secondary schools than those for boys. A girl’s prep school will generally take children from age 5 to 11, and independent girls schools after prep school will often begin at age 11 and continue to age 18, with no general age 13 intake.

Most prep schools prepare children for Common Entrance examinations, taken at 11+, 12+ or 13+ for entry to independent senior boarding or day schools. Some schools, particularly London day private schools set their own entrance exams. Provision of places in senior schools may well affect the destination of pupils after they leave prep schools in London and therefore the focus of academic tuition may be affected also.

It is advisable to inform the school of your child’s destination choices 2 years before the end of the prep school, so that they can help the pupil prepare for the next school in the best way. Some prep schools may have excellent links between the prep and senior schools, affecting the destination of the pupils. Most students at Westminster School in London continue to the Westminster Senior School for example, and Colet Court is the preparatory school for St Paul’s School in London.

Pupils are normally only split into different class teachers from age 9, when subject specialist teachers will teach them.    There are regular informal and internal examinations to monitor the academic progress, and also feedback for the sporting development of the pupils at most prep schools in London. Examinations are usually held at the end of the Christmas and Summer terms.
